Domingo Garado Abucejo

Domingo Garado Abucejo, 83, born on December 11, 1932, in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, Philippines, passed away August 20, 2016. He resided in Cerritos, California, at the time of his passing.

Domingo grew up in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, Philippines. He attended Adamson University in Manila where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism. He then began work and taught English & Literature at Lipa City College in Batangas, Philippines.

Domingo immigrated to the US and arrived in the state of California on April, 1968. He began work at a couple retail locations. After a few years he found a career at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard in California and later transferred to the Naval Weapons Station of Seal Beach, California where he retired in 1995.

Domingo married Leonor in 1971 in Artesia, California and were happily married for 45 years.

Domingo was a very simple, mellow, good-humored, and kind-hearted man. His favorite foods were Pan De Sal, Bananas, Fish and chips, and Fried Chicken. He enjoyed writing, reading newspapers/magazines, playing piano, dancing (tango, cha cha), watching The History and CNN channels, and especially going to his favorite place, Pechanga Resort and Casino.

Domingo is preceded in death by his parents Timoteo and Gregoria Abucejo; his brothers, Buenaventura Cabalitan and Carlos Abucejo. his sisters; Conception Abucejo Donoso and Praxedes Abucejo Badococ.

Domingo is survived by his spouse Leonor Abucejo; his son Dominic Abucejo and his wife Wendy; his daughter Nicole Abucejo and her partner Valerie; his grandchildren Gregory and Martin, and his 2 brothers, Antonio Abucejo and Raymundo Abucejo; his loving nieces, nephews; and many numerous relatives.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
