Delores Mae Cordell
A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 90, of St. George Utah entered Gods kingdom on February 22, 2023. She was born March 1, 1932, in Boston Massachusetts. She passed away peacefully in her bed surrounded by family.
Delores, “Dee”, raised in Boston in her childhood, would later move to Florida. Delores married Daniel Tolbert and became a loving wife and mother of 6 children. She attended nursing school in Florida and graduated as an LVN nurse. She worked in hospitals for 9 years and a doctor’s office after the family moved to California. She retired from nursing and became a successful Office Administrator to a large commercial printing company in Los Angeles, which she retired from.
Delores was a devout Latter Day Saint and taught classes at church and enjoyed attending Sunday services on a regular basis. Dee was a truly great woman whose impact will be forever felt by her family; that loves her dearly. She was a selfless person whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones. Her capacity to nurture, care for, support, forgive, and love everyone will be forever engrained in all she knew. She was a teacher to all and a continued inspiration. May we all have gratitude and great love celebrating her incredible time with us.
Delores is survived by 5 children, Sharon Van Etten, Daniel Tolbert III, Donald Tolbert, Luanne Truman, and Carolyn Marin, as well as 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
In place of flowers, the family requests donation be made in her name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
