Dolleine "Dolly" Walker, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, in Seal Beach, California, at the blessed age of 91. Born on September 8, 1933, in Arkansas, Dolly was a dedicated registered nurse who spent over 35 years caring for others in the healthcare field. Her commitment to nurturing both her patients and family showcased her generous spirit and boundless love. Education was an important aspect of Dolleine's life, and she proudly received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing, using her skills and compassion to make a positive difference in countless lives. Known for her spunky personality, she created a warm and inviting environment in her home, which became a gathering grounds and safe haven for family and friends alike. Dolly had a knack for feeding everyone who entered her door, nurturing them not only with her delicious meals but also with her loving presence.
A grandmother like no other, her grand and great grandkids lovingly called her Nana, a name that perfectly encapsulated the affection she bestowed upon them. She cherished each moment spent with her grandchildren—Mark (Andrea), Matthew, Marquisha, Tiffany (Charles Sr.), Bruce Jr., Malik, and Mya—delighting in their laughter and creating lasting memories together. Dolleine's extravagant zest for life extended beyond her nursing career, as she loved visiting the casino, watching sports, and engaging in lively card games. Her joyous spirit and infectious laughter brightened the lives of those around her, serving as a testament to her loving and carefree nature. She is survived by her devoted children, Rosalyn Douglas, Quentin Walker, and Prentis Walker (Tina); her daughter-in-law, Vanisha Walker; her treasured grandchildren mentioned above and her great-grandchildren- Tyrus, Jordan, Malia, Brianna, Chyna, CJ and Mark III; a host of siblings, family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the deepest bonds of family that reflect her loving personality.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard L. Walker Sr.; her parents, Buck and Clara Anderson; and her sons, Richard L. Walker Jr. and Bruce Walker Sr., and a host of relatives whose memories she carried fondly throughout her life.
Dolly's visitation will be held on February 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Long Beach, Mission Room, followed by a funeral service on February 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Cathedral Chapel of Forest Lawn - Long Beach.
Her departure leaves an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, and while Dolleine has left this world, her spirit and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and friends. She will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in the memories she created and the love she shared.
