Diane Bolls

Diane Eleanor Bolls (Reedy), of Walnut, CA passed away peacefully in her home on March 4th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.  She was 80 years old.

Diane was born on September 10, 1942 to Howard and C. Eleanor  (Honey) Reedy in St Paul, Minnesota.  She grew up in Northern Minnesota with her parents and sisters, Margaret Schluter and Claudette Holly.   Diane graduated Valedictorian from Cass Lake High School where she was selected as the Homecoming Queen and as a “Daughter of the American Revolution.”  She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, Texas and her Master of Arts degree from California State Polytechnic University.   Additionally, she obtained many special certifications for handicap and special education.

Diane met her husband, Larry R. Bolls, in Texas and they married in 1965 on Lackland Air Force Base.   They had five children:  Laura Wilson, Thomas (Tommy) Bolls (deceased), Caroline Miller, Angela McElroy and Elizabeth Wooden.   Diane’s 11 grandchildren—Jennifer, Eric, Shayne, Cyle, Taylor, Abagail, Hayden, Ariel, Reed, Emily, and Ryan—and 7 great grandchildren were all incredibly important to her.  More than anything, she loved the time spent with her family and friends.  

Diane spent 24+ years with her husband in the United States Air Force.  She was very active in all aspects of life; she played piano and organ for the Catholic Church, taught Sunday School and was in the church choir.  Diane was also the family seamstress.  She was a passionate educator, starting her career as an elementary school teacher and culminating as a special education teacher and was selected as Teacher of the Year in 2012.
