Atkinson: Devin T. Rooney, 29, died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, from complications of a long, hard fought battle with drug addiction.
Born at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen to David J. Rooney and Cathryn (Bocuzzo) Johnson, he was first raised in Little Falls, NY. He moved to Plaistow in 1998 and attended Timberlane Regional Schools as a member of the Class of 2004. He played for the Timberlane High Football Team and also participated in Basketball, Little League, Swimming and Judo in his youth.
A licensed general contractor and very hard worker, Devin formerly owned and operated his own framing company, D. Rooney Construction, of which he was extremely proud.
Devin was very passionate and always lived life on the edge. He not only loved to snowboard and ride his motorcycle, he thrilled at taking it to the extreme, performing in stunt shows just for the thrill of it.
His first and foremost passion, however, was his family. Family was everything to Devin and he expressed that daily to everyone. He adored his 2 yr old daughter Delilah, worshiped his dream girl, Stefani and was eager to meet his unborn daughter.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his daughter Delilah Rooney, fiancé Stefanie Vizard, and step-daughter Arianna Moschetto, all of Atkinson; his mother and step-father Cathryn M. and Roosevelt Johnson of Hudson, NH; father and step mother David J. Rooney and Katie Kelly of Rochester, NH; sisters Haylie Rousseau of Northwood and Kayla Cardenas of Salem, NH; stepsister Casandra Johnson of Hudson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday evening September 8, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Burial services will be private.
