Deodico Zapico Ibarra, Sr., 91
Dr. Deodico Zapico Ibarra, Sr., 91 of Lancaster, California passed away peacefully on January 24, 2014.
Deodico (Dico) was born in Libacao, Aklan, Philippines, on December 2, 1922. He served in the Philippine Army during World War II. He was married to Angelina (Lina) Ricablanca, his hometown sweetheart in 1953. They were married for 52 years. While married to Angelina, Deodico continued to seek his college education while working to support his growing family. Deodico earned his Dentistry Degree in1956 from the Bureau of Private Schools College of Oral And Dental Surgery. He then went on to practice dentistry in the Philippines. In 1971, he and his family immigrated to Glendale, California. It was with the support and help of his sisters and brothers that Deodico was able to settle with his family in their new home in California.
In 1975, Deodico moved his family to Chicago to pursue his passion of Dentistry. In Chicago, he worked in his brother in-law's dental practice. It is in Chicago where he and Angelina raised their teenage children at the time.
In 1987, Deodico and Angelina moved back to California to retire and be closer to their children and extended families. Deodico enjoyed his retirement years with Angelina by spending time with family, fishing, traveling and babysitting their grandchildren.
Deodico was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father to his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Deodico was preceded in death by his wife, Angelina. He was a caring and generous man to his family in the Philippines.

Children: Marilyn Ibarra, Monien Ibarra, Deodico Ibarra, Jr, Caroline Ibarra Goler and husband Louis Patrick Goler, Sr.
Six Grandchildren: Brittny Burford and husband Graham Burford, Louis Patrick Goler, Jr., Janay Goler, Kendal Goler, and Quinn Goler
Great-Granddaughter: Kennedy Angelina Burford
Brothers and Sisters: Diancon Ibarra, Bernardo Ibarra, Leonila Paciones, Fenicula Holness, and Edith Danlag; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law; Nieces and Nephews, and the rest of his family, relatives, and friends.
