Dennis Fees

The world welcomed Dennis on January 7, 1953, and the sun had shined warm upon his face ever since. He was born in Compton, CA, to his loving mother, Virginia Mae Fees. He loved spending time with his mom, uncle, aunt, and cousins. Dennis was bright and curious as a child. He had a passion for animals all of his life and was regularly bringing animals home.

After high school, Dennis went to college at Long Beach City and Long Beach State. He went on to UC Davis to study veterinary medicine. After earning his doctorate, he spent some time in Colorado doing an internship. He spoke of those days and adventures fondly. Once he came back to CA, he worked in El Monte for a while until an opportunity presented itself for him to become part owner. Dennis and his partners owned the two practices for many years, and his work brought him much joy and pride. He was a talented and compassionate man, loved by his clients and patients.

In 1989, Dennis took on his next big role - being a wonderful father. His daughter Kelsey was born that year and his son Kaylon was born four years later. He loved his children and instilled in them his same love of life and adventurous nature. Dennis married his adoring wife, Jean, in 1999. They combined their families and he became a loving father to Jesi and Vicki too. Dennis was a family man. He cherished his wife, with whom he had many happy times. They were best friends. He was so proud of his children; All three daughters worked at his practice with him at some point and he beamed watching his son later become a fireman.

Dennis resided in La Verne, CA and in his spare time, he loved to read the newspaper, see live music, go to baseball games with his cousins, and travel. He had a love for Irish music and culture that he shared with his family and many friends. He loved tending to his plants and succulents. Some of the cacti in his yard he'd had for over thirty years. Dennis was an excellent story teller and had many tales to tell. He had a life well lived and will be sorely missed by all who love him.
