Delphia (Dolly) Morgen. Born in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on October 15, 1930, Dolly's family moved to Victoria on Vancouver Island shortly
thereafter. She succumbed of pancreatic cancer at approximately 4:30 A.M. on October 16, 2012, after living with it for over a year. After migrating to the US in 1951, she met her future husband, Andy, at a USO dance in Long Beach, Calif. They were still married after 59 years of marital bliss, and have one son named John. Dolly became an American citizen in 1959. After many moves around the country as a result of Andy's employment with the Department of Defense, they finally settled in Manhattan Beach, Calif., and lived there for thirty years before moving to La Quinta in the desert in 1995. Shortly after retirement in late 1986, Dolly & Andy joined the National Active and Retired Federal Employee (NARFE) Association in South Bay Chapter 0465, and were members for eight years prior to moving to La Quinta, where they immediately transferred to our Palm Springs Chapter, where she served in many positions. Dolly is a Life and Distinguished member of NARFE. Dolly always had a pleasant thing to say, and was always ready to help out when needed. She loved animals as attested by the many cats and dogs she has had over the years. Dolly will be sorely missed by her husband, Andy, and son, John, of Yuma, Arizona; plus a brother, Brian Lillie of Victoria, B. C., Canada, and several cousins: Maryilyn Warr-King, of Portland, Oregon; Betty Warmenhoven of Chemainus, B.C.; and Carol Cowan of Duncan, B.C. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Mortuary, Cathedral City, Calif. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00am at Forest Lawn Mausoleum and a reception will be held immediately after in the Ramon Room at Forest Lawn, Cathedral City. Please do not send flowers, but make a memorial donation in her behalf to the ASPCA, or any other animal/pet shelter/society.
