In Loving Memory of Dean Edward Plum
Dean Edward Plum, a cherished father, husband, brother, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Dean passed away from an unexpected Acute Dissection, on February 8, 2024 @ 2132, Long Beach Memorial Hospital. He was 69 years young and lived a beautiful and fulfilling life centered around his family and faith in GOD..
Born Dean Edward Plum on September 22, 1954, at Maywood Hospital, in Maywood, CA. (known today as, Whittier Presbyterian Hospital, in the city of Whittier, California. ) He was raised by his parents, Donald Edward Plum and Josephine Desimone ( Plum). He had two brothers, older brother Jim Plum and younger brother Matt Plum. Dean went to Lowell High School in Whittier, California. He played high school football and baseball. He graduated in the class of “1972”, and he went on to play semi pro baseball, until he tore his ACL.
He then met a beautiful young lady name Maddy Charles. They met at a friends party. They fell in love and married January 18, 1975. They had two beautiful children, Diana Plum and Danny Plum.
He went to St Francis Medical Center, school of Radiography. He graduated in 1984, with a BRT. His first job was at Charter Suburban Hospital in Paramount, California.
Dean’s first married came to a mutual end.
During his first years at Charter Suburban Hospital, he came across a young beautiful, vivacious, ER nurse, named Jerry. She diffidently caught Dean’s eye..Unbeknown to Dean, God just introduced him to the “LOVE” of his life. Their courtship blossomed, and they exchanged vows on August 20, 1988. Living in Long Beach, California, they shared a joyful and fulfilling marriage. Dean also, welcomed his three new daughters, Beverly, Brenda, and Becky. Dean embraced his love for GOLF, sports, and his life with Jerry. They shared a love of horses, wolves, and finding happiness and true love with Jerry.
Alongside Jerry, music, trips to Oregon, fishing, and fun times were the foundation of Dean’s life. Above all, he truly cherished his family and nurtured their spiritual connection with GOD. Dean’s devotion to God, Jesus, and his special angel on earth..Dean lovingly referred to Jerry as his “ lightest of all the angels,” and his “very own angel.” Their union lasted 37 years. Even after Jerry passed before him, he still stated often,
“MY ANGEL IS STILL HERE WITH ME.” As he finds his eternal home, we celebrate his remarkable life on earth and remain grateful for his place in HEAVEN.
Dean Edward Plum will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his unwavering love, kindness, strength, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of his family and friends.
Rest in peace, dear Dean. With all our love, we bid you farewell, knowing that we will be reunited with you one day in the promise of eternal joy!
