David Callie Pratt, a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend, passed away March 28, 2026 surrounded by his family, after a 15-month battle with metastatic colorectal cancer. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, hard work, and unwavering generosity. He was a man whose greatest pride and purpose in life were his daughters, Blair and Teagan, and his bonus children, Slate Eugenio & Jonni Glover, and those who found guidance, encouragement, and belonging in his presence: Jessyca Jones & Natalia Rodriguez.
A true family man, David is survived by his loving parents Loren and Joanne Pratt of Maricopa, Arizona, his partner Alexandra Gagné (Jonni), grandfather Edward Pratt, his sister Dyan McGrath (Patrick, Callie & Sloane), and his identical twin brother Douglas Pratt (Lauren & Madison), with whom he shared a lifelong bond that was as deep as it was unbreakable. His family was the foundation of his life, and he carried those values into everything he did.
David grew up in Maricopa, Arizona as the third generation on the family farm founded by his grandfather. From a young age, he found his passion. Growing and tending fields to supply the world with nutrients became his lifelong dream. David took his father’s words of “follow your passions, and you’ll never work a day in your life” to heart. David worked at his profession right up until the last couple days of his life, as his work brought him joy and comfort. His dedication to feeding the world was unwavering.
An Agronomy graduate of the University of Arizona (2007), David remained a lifelong student, always adopting the latest technologies, studying the newest agricultural research, and applying them both to daily life and his profession. He was the proud owner of 4P Farms, where his passion for agriculture and his roots as a farm kid were evident in every acre he tended. He spent the last few years working at Gless Ranch, where his strong work ethic and dedication earned the respect of all who knew him. And, if you knew Dave, there were likely Gless Ranch oranges, lemons, and avocados in your fridge at any time. In addition to his work in agriculture, David built a side career in real estate, helping others find not just houses, but homes.
He was an avid sports enthusiast and a Wildcat for life. Whether cheering from the sidelines, playing, or sharing his love of the game with his children, sports were one of the many ways he connected with others and created lasting memories. Whether it was the steady competition with his twin over any and everything, or with friends on the links, David thrived in any competitive environment.
Above all, David will be remembered for his heart. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen, supported, and valued—especially children. He showed up, stepped in, and gave of himself freely, becoming a father figure not only to his own children but to anyone who needed one. His kindness, strength, and steady presence left a mark that will never fade.
David’s legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the love he gave, and the example he set. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 9, 2026 at Desert Willow Golf Resort, Palm Desert, California, at 10:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in David’s honor to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance https://impact.ccalliance.org/fundraiser/7143116 or a charity of your choice that supports children’s health and youth programs, reflecting the causes that meant so much to him.
