David Russell Newkirk

David Russell Newkirk, 64, born on June 7, 1952, in Montebello, California, passed away May 6, 2017 at 12:20 am. He wanted others to know that he did not loose his battle with cancer, because Jesus already won the victory over death. He wanted everyone to know he lived a blessed life.

David resided in Walnut, California and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as an Internet Technology Administrator for the Sysco Corperation, he was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Valley.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Newkirk, Walnut; his daughter and son-in-law Robyn and Christopher Loewen, Walnut; his father and mother, Russell and Louis Newkirk, Encinitas; his brother Edwin Newkirk, Azusa; two sisters,Cynthia Duran and Sheri Leopold, Encinitas and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Randi Anne Newkirk, and his grandparents, Eurie and Dora Newkirk, James and Ruth Williams.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 20th, at First Baptist Church of Walnut Valley, Associate Pastor Brian Vogelesang will officiate. Burial/Graveside service for family and close friends will be at Forest Lawn Covina Hills and serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Loewen, Ed Newkirk, David Newkirk, Daniel Newkirk, Michael Blodgett, Gordon Blodgett, Jarrod Frahm, and Leonard Holmes.
