David Delgadillo

November 19, 1963 — October 14, 2023

Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, David Delgadillo, unexpectedly passed away at home on Saturday, October 14, 2023. By his side was his wife of 15 years, Ivette.

David was born on November 19, 1963, to the late Enrique Delgadillo, a photo retoucher, and Ruth Delgadillo, an elementary school teacher in El Paso, Texas. The most valuable education he received was given to him by both of his parents. David was brought up with Jesus being the center of his life.  Starting at an early young age, David’s father, talked to him about the most important book he would ever read, the Bible. Enrique would read scriptures, post memory verses throughout their family home, and engage in deep conversations with him and his family about living for God’s glory.  David’s mother’s nurturing and loving ways taught David how to be humble, kind, and compassionate. Ruth’s kindness and service as a soldier in the Salvation Army for 15 years was contagious to David. He went on to become a gentle, loving, and nurturing man in his personal life and also in his medical professional career. David put everyone’s needs above his own. He was a very selfless man.

David graduated with honors from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1995 at the top of his class. Three days later he started his position as a Physician’s Assistant with Desert Orthopedic Center (DOC) in Rancho Mirage, California. He retired to his heavenly home a few months shy of his 30th Anniversary with DOC. David loved working in the medical profession and cared deeply about every patient. They came in as patients and left as friends.  He always made sure to take his time and treated each patient with great care.  David took great joy in his career would often say, “This is what God called me to do”.

David was blessed with two beautiful twin girls, Emma and Bella, and his wife, Ivette, who loved him dearly.  God united David and Ivette’s love with the power of prayer.  They both met with the help of mutual friends and it was truly a match made in Heaven and love at first sight. David and Ivette were married on September 14, 2008, in Malibu, California.

In his free time, David enjoyed playing his acoustic guitar which gave him peace and comfort. David was a talented guitarist who loved all different types of music genres. His favorite was country music and would say, “It’s the only music that is centered around God, country, and family.  Music was David’s therapy and a source of communication. He would serenade his wife and daughters to show his love and affection. David was also very proud of Emma’s and Bella’s love for music. He enjoyed rocking out on his electric guitars with his daughters and looked forward to attending his girls’ various music recitals and band competitions.  David was their number one fan, always bringing a bouquet of flowers to express his love for them.  He had a musical connection with Emma and Bella and his passion for music will now live through them.

Every morning he would wake up, place his hand on his bible, and thank the Lord for another day seeking God in all circumstances. David left beautiful bible verses and positive thoughts throughout his home, reminding his family that with God’s grace, we will all be together again one day united in God’s love and in His presence. We give God praise and glory for the time we were able to share with David. God is good!  David was gone too soon but his wife and daughters will “Trust in the Lord with all their hearts and lean not on their own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).  His memory will live on in their hearts and David’s faithfulness in our Lord and Savior will strengthen their own faith. In all things “I will praise the Lord, who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken for He is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.” (Psalm 16:7-9) “You will show me the way of life granting me the joy of Your presence and the pleasures of living with You forever.” (Psalm 16:11).

David’s “Celebration of Life” will be held on November 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Southwest Church, 44-175 Washington Street, Indian Wells, CA 92210.  He will be laid to rest that same day at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn in Covina Hills, 21300 Via Verde Street, Covina, CA 91724.
