David Charles Clark

David Charles Clark, 77 of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on October 30, 2020 in Newport Beach, CA.


Funeral Services will be held at 12:30PM November 13, 2020 at Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA.


David was born on July 16, 1943 to Earl and Audrey Clark. At the age of 15 he moved to Pacific Palisades, CA, where he enjoyed scuba diving and California's beaches. In 1961 he enrolled at UCLA, where he found the love of his life, Elinor Andersen. David graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in Physics in 1968. He married Elinor, the following year on Fourth of July 1969 in Pacific Palisades, CA.


David went on to earn his Master's in Physics from California State University, Long Beach in 1972; and his PhD in Radiological Sciences in 1977 from University of California Irvine.


David's career brought him to the Space Sciences Division of Aerospace Corporation. He later worked in computer sciences at Archive Corporation and Wangdat Corporation.


In 1974, David and Elinor purchased their home and planted roots in Huntington Beach, CA. The following year, they welcomed their son, John Clark. In 1978, their family was complete with the birth of their daughter Christina.


David enjoyed everything and anything mechanical. He rebuilt cars; and built go-carts and dune buggies. David was also an avid off-roader. Family RV trips to Pismo Beach and the desert facilitated his off-road addiction.


David is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Audrey Clark.


David is survived by his loving wife, Elinor Clark (Andersen); his son and daughter-in-law John and Dory Clark; his daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Reed Stoneburner; his siblings Anne Smith, Larry Clark and Linda Clark; and his grandchildren Reed, Mikah, Ella, Owen, Ryder and Isaac.
