David Bruce Bennett

David Bruce Bennett was born on August 11, 1930 in Nemacolin, PA and passed away February 12, 2021 in Glendora, CA. He was one of ten children born to Alexander and Ethel Bennett and spent his early life in Western Pennsylvania. After serving in the US Air Force, he attended the University of Colorado, Boulder. Here he met his wife, Patricia, served as president of the hiking club, and graduated with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. He then began a successful career in avionics in Cincinnati and Minneapolis, including the development of the first aircraft collision avoidance system. He was actively involved in the lives of his sons and was a great role model for them. David and Patricia were married 62 years and enjoyed the outdoors and time with family and friends in their retirement. David is survived by his wife, Patricia, sons Jeffrey (Julie) and Steven (Wendy) and grandchildren David, John, Caleb and Calista. He is also survived by his brother George, his sister Marilyn and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, David. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 19, 2021 at 9:30 am at Glenkirk Church in Glendora, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Glenkirk Church Deacons Fund.
