David Alfred Art

David Alfred Art, age 65, born on May 22, 1951 in Lakewood, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2017. He resided in Downey, California at the time of his passing where he was struggling for several years with declining health.

David attended Cleveland State University where he earned his degree in Electrical Engineering and went on to live and work in various cities and states as an Electrical Engineer, mostly in the food industry, for over four decades.

David was a faithful member of the Apostolic Christian Church believing strongly in II Corinthians 5:6-8, "Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."

David is survived by daughters Amanda Ching (Bryan) and Melissa Art (Andrew); grand-daughter, Sophie; sisters Janet Williams (Alexander), Marilyn Eble (John), Catherine Rasmussen (James) and Elizabeth Fetzer (Andrew). Also, many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred W. and Margaret Art, and by a brother, James Art.

David enjoyed spending his free time with music, sound systems, computers and learning the latest technologies.

Services will be held at 10:20 am on Sunday March 5th, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Church (739 East Calaveras Street, Altadena, CA 91001). There will be lunch available at the church following.
