Daphne Mae Batin

May 30, 1936 — August 13, 2020

Daphne Batin, longtime resident of Glendale, fell asleep in the Lord on August 13, 2020 at Adventist Health Glendale. She was 84.
Born in Meiktila, Burma, she was the middle child of Maung Sein and Naw Lay Paw. Her mother sadly passed away when she was a child. She married Harold Batin on September 14, 1955. Life events took her to Rangoon, Tempe and Los Angeles before settling in Glendale in 1970. A busy mother of three, she doggedly earned her RN degree and worked for many years at various hospitals and clinics in southern California. She was a stalwart member of the Eagle Rock Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, shopping for useless merchandise, watching Fox News, arguing with democrats and needling her children and grandchildren about anything and everything.
She is survived by daughters Patricia (Rick) and Melinda (Wendell), son Roger (Lacy), honorary daughter Hui Su, six granddaughters (Natalie, Kristina, Taryn, Bryn, Liana and Isabel) who were the joy of her life, brother Bruce, sister Grace, half-sister Mama Gyi, half-brothers Glen and Clyde and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her half-sister Lulu.
Daphne will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Glendale. Funeral services are private. A memorial video will be made accessible at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Eagle Rock SDA Church.
