Danny O'Neill Volland

Danny O'Neill Volland, 68 years young, died December 17, 2013, in his home town of Palm Springs, California.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents Norman and Jean Volland. Born in Santa Monica, California, April 10, 1945, he loved to play poker, be with his family and friends, and eat good food; not necessarily in that order.
Dan served our country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Vietnam. He was successful in business, as an owner of a chain of natural food grocery stores, Mrs. Gooch's Natural Food Markets throughout the Los Angeles area. In the nineties he began a chain of BBQ restaurants, Memphis Championship Barbecue in Las Vegas, NV. More importantly, he was successful in life, being surrounded always by people whom he loved and those who loved him.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Michelle Volland and her four children; Brian, Mike, Greg, and Jen. His beloved sister, Judi Witt; his four children and nine grandchildren: Kyle Volland his beloved son: his daughter Cassie Almeida and her children; Alyssa, Ethan, Evelyn, and Owen; his daughter, Annie Volland and her children; Deegan and Ryder: His daughter Jen Hanley and her children; Makayla, Caleb, and Riley.
Nothing in life brought him more joy than to be with his family and his friends, he never passed up an opportunity to make someone laugh. His charisma, humor, and big heart will be greatly missed and always remembered.
