Dannon Rico De La Garza

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dannon Rico De La Garza, who left us far too soon at the age of 39. Dannon passed away on April 22, 2025 surrounded by those who loved him deeply. Born on September 2, 1985 Dannon was a cherished son, a beloved younger brother, and a loyal friend. To know him was to know warmth, humor, and compassion. He had a unique gift for making others feel seen, heard, and valued. His laugh was contagious, and his presence made every room brighter.

With a heart full of generosity and a spirit of adventure; he lived life with positivity and authenticity. We will always remember him cheering on his favorite football team with unmatched dedication. Win or lose, he showed up as he did for all his friends and family. Dannon has been called a “Cat Whisperer” with his deep love for cats who were always drawn to his gentle nature and heart to open the door to anyone in need.

Dannon is survived by his Father Daniel S. De La Garza Sr, Mother Alice R. Jensen, Sister Danyell A. Meade, and Brother Daniel S. De La Garza Jr., Brother-In-Law Michael C. Meade Jr., Sister-In-Law Bianca M. De La Garza and long-time Girlfriend Melissa Madrid, his 3 nieces Samiah A. De La Garza, Madyson D. Meade and Macy L. Meade and 3 nephews Jaymin A. De La Garza, Dezmin J. De La Garza and Michael C. Meade III and his 5 adored cats who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

 A memorial visitation to honor Dannon’s life will be held on May 18th at 4 p.m. - 8 p. m. and a Funeral Service on May 19th at 8:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn, 69855 East Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234. Burial services will take place on May 19th, at 10 a.m. at the Coachella Valley Cemetery, 82925 52nd Avenue, Coachella, CA 92236. Reception to follow at The Meade Estate at 31 Clancy Lane Estate, Rancho Mirage CA. 92270. All who knew and loved Dannon are welcome to attend and celebrate his life and memory.
