Daniel Martinez, 82, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2020 at his family home in Indio, California. He was born on February 4,1938 in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, Mexico to Daniel Sr. and Antonia Martinez. He began working at a very young age which instilled hard work and dedication to provide for his family.

Daniel met the love of his life, Elvia Zamarripa, in 1959. They married on July 1, 1962 and enjoyed 58 wonderful years of life together.

He was a resident of Indio, California for over 50 years and loved his community. He was a Mechanic and Shop Supervisor for over 30 years working for the same farming company, which began as Foley Ranches in Mecca and later became Desert Mist Farms.

He is survived by his loving wife Elvia, 4 sons Daniel (Annie), Mario (Zully), Diego (Lupie), Julio (Alicia) and 2 daughters Nydia and Norma (Juan Carlos), 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Carmela, Almira, Gloria and Mirtala, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Raul, Eliazar, Carlos and 2 sisters Oralia and Widerfila. Daniel was known for the enormous amount of love he had for his family, respect for others, and his love of dancing to Música Norteña.

He was a devoted family man of honor and integrity. His life and memory will live on through all those who knew and adored Don Daniel.

Due to the present circumstances, he will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with only the immediate family in attendance. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Daniel Martínez, de 82 años, falleció pacíficamente el 14 de marzo de 2020 en la casa de su familia en Indio, California. Nació el 4 de febrero de 1938 en Montemorelos, Nuevo León, México, hijo de Daniel Sr. y Antonia Martínez. Comenzó a trabajar a una edad muy joven, lo que inculcó la dedicacion para trabajar duro y proveer para su familia.

Daniel conoció al amor de su vida, Elvia Zamarripa, en 1959. Se casaron el 1 de julio de 1962 y disfrutaron de 58 maravillosos años de vida juntos. Fue residente de Indio, California por más de 50 años y amaba a su comunidad. Fue mecánico y supervisor de taller durante más de 30 años trabajando para la misma empresa agrícola, que comenzó como Foley Ranches en Mecca y más tarde se convirtió en Desert Mist Farms.

El fue un hombre dedicado a su familia, un hombre de honor e integridad. Su vida y memoria vivirán a través de todos aquellos que conocieron y adoraron a Don Daniel.

Debido a las circunstancias actuales, será sepultado en una ceremonia privada con solo la familia inmediata presente. Una celebración de su vida se llevará a cabo en una fecha posterior.
