Danella Humphrey of Carson, California was born on January 20, 1950, in Hartselle, Alabama to the late John Marshall Huber and Lazelle Gill Huber. She transitioned into Glory on November 1, 2021, surrounded by her family at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Danella attended Morgan County Training School (MCTS) in Hartselle, Alabama where she met Lorenzo Elton Humphrey. They married in 1965. After serving his tour in Vietnam, they moved to California where they continued to live and raise their four children, Lorenzo Jacques, Valerie, Cheryl, and Kenneth.
Danella was a strong believer in family getting together enjoying life and building her relationship with the Lord. She overcame many life challenges and always persevered. Her faith and relationship with God grew while attending New Life Christian Center, Bright Star COGIC, and My Father's House Church International. She enjoyed singing in the choir, assisting in Children's Ministry, Greeting/Ushering and willing to help wherever needed. Danella also enjoyed the finer things in life, traveling, blessing others, and imparting words of wisdom to her family and those who crossed her path.
She worked at Cedars Sinai Medical Center for 20 years, as a valued Manager in Patient Financial Services. Danella loved helping people achieve their greatest potential in the workplace and in their personal lives. She went above and beyond to make sure patients experienced the best customer service even while going through their most challenging circumstances. She truly left a mark in the hearts of many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John Leroy Huber, her sister, Gloria Jane Winton, and her son Kenneth Leroy Humphrey.
Danella leaves behind to cherish her love and memory: Lorenzo E. Humphrey; three children, Lorenzo J. Humphrey (Ida), Valerie Edwards (Phillip) and Cheryl Albright (Derek); eleven grandchildren, Jacques Humphrey, Jeramie Humphrey, Ariel Salaam (Khalid), Christopher Edwards, Kenneth Edwards, Erin Edwards, Chandler Meyers (Dimitri), Michael Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Jordyn Albright, and Christian Albright; seven great grandchildren, Israel, Jacques, Zion, Bella, Emory, Onyx, and Rylee. And a host of other relatives and friends in Alabama, Georgia, California, and other areas.
