North Andover: Dale C. Stauffer, 78, of North Andover and formerly of Plaistow, NH, died March 1, 2012 at The Oxford in Haverhill.

Born in Johnsville, Maryland, son of the late Omer and Annie (Blacksten) Stauffer, he moved to Somerville, MA, and graduated from Somerville High School in 1951. He served in the U.S.Army as a member of the Army of Occupation in Germany and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Employed for many years as a mechanical designer for Space Optics of Chelmsford, he later worked as a home health aid for Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley and VNA Home Health of Lawrence.

A member of Saint Michael's Parish of North Andover and a former member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks and Holy Angels Parish of Plaistow, Mr. Stauffer was devoted to his family and enjoyed bowling, dancing, walking and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Mary V. (Abate) (Healey) Stauffer, two sons, Mark S. Stauffer and his companion Ann Thomas, of Ware, MA, and Timothy J. Healey of Bridgewater and his fiance Cara McDonald of Wareham, six daughters, Judene (Stauffer)Pare and her husband Donald of Lowell, Darlene (Stauffer) Choo of Ossippee, NH, Lisa Stauffer of Methuen, Roxane (Stauffer) Larrabee and her husband Charles of Sandown, NH, Christine (Stauffer) Haradon and her husband Mark of Gilmanton, NH, and Maureen (Healey) Cantwell and her husband Christopher of Norton, a sister Anna McCarthy of Billerica, a brother Robert Stauffer of Somerville , eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Paul Stauffer.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Route 121A. Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Wednesday at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Plaistow. Burial with military honors will follow in Holy Angles Cemetery, Plaistow. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA, or to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA.
