Cynthia Morales Villanueva, 76, was born on February 13, 1950, to Honesto and Salvacion M. Villanueva in Tabaco City, Bicol, Philippines. She passed away June 06, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
She earned her Chemical Engineering B.S. in 1971 from Adamson University, Manila, Philippines after attending Catholic Central School in Tabaco City. She was brains and beauty, with family fondly remembering her Miss Tabaco and St. Valentine's pageant wins.
Cynthia will be remembered for her love of life's simple pleasures -- the outdoors, especially walks in the sunshine and tending to her beautiful garden and collection of orchids; cooking, even when it was fancy instant ramen; and for being the best listener, confidant, and advisor. She was a creative talent in everything from crocheting, to painting, to sewing clothes for her little sisters and princess costumes for her nieces. She shared her love of handicrafts and the arts with her many nieces and nephews.
At home in Placentia, CA, Cynthia was a devoted and cherished member of St. Joseph's community, where her heartfelt spirituality shone through her active involvement in the Rosary and various other Ministries. She leaves behind a community of friends, family, and neighbors who will remember her prayerful presence and generous spirit.
She leaves behind a loving circle of brothers (Virgilio, Joel), a sister (Audrey), many nieces and nephews, and the family dog, who will miss her table scraps and her head pats.
Tita Nene, Carrie Bata, Cynthia, as we fondly called her, will always be remembered as a thoughtful, devoted, and loving sister, friend, and aunt.
We will pray the Rosary (7/1, 10am) and Funeral Mass (10:30-11:30am), followed by a Fellowship & Reception (11:30am-1pm) at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Placentia, CA.
Arrangements for burial are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA and will be immediate family only.
