Don Cruz Romo Loza, 80, was born on May 03, 1943, in San Miguel El Alto, JAL, Mexico, and lived in El Rancho Del Tigre where he was raised along with his many brothers and sisters. As an adult, while working in Mexico City, he met his beautiful wife, Celia. Together they had 9 children which included 6 daughters and 3 sons. As Cruz headed to California, he worked various jobs until finding his passion in cooking some of the best tacos in the Coachella Valley. He started his business small, selling at a local park in Palm Springs, CA on the weekends, ultimately leading to his first restaurant, a local staple, Taqueria San Miguel. Cruz was loved by so many people and there was no one who loved having a good time and enjoying life more than he did. He embodied a true Jaliscense who loved the sounds of the banda and mariachi, surrounded by good conversations and strong tequila. He was and always will be a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, great-grandfather, and friend. On July 28, 2023, he closed his eyes for the last time as he headed to join his son Efrain who departed 6 years earlier, into their next adventure. Along with his 7 living children, he is survived by his wife, Celia, 14 grandchildren,7 great-grandchildren, and many additional family members. He resided in Cathedral City, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
