Dr. Crisanto Layos, a devoted family man and esteemed physician, departed this world on January 27, 2026, in the comforting embrace of his loved ones at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. He was born on October 25, 1935, in the Philippines and embarked on a remarkable journey that would lead him to touch countless lives through his remarkable career in medicine.
Dr. Layos earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Manila Central University in 1965, and completed his residency training at Baguio General Hospital, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. His legacy is unique, as he had the unparalleled honor of delivering both of his children, Michael and Christine, an accomplishment that accentuated his commitment not only to his profession but also to his family.
Married to the love of his life, Milagros, for an exceptional 55 years, Dr. Layos exemplified the virtues of love, loyalty, and devotion. A proud grandfather, he cherished every moment spent with his beloved grandson, Alexander, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Dr. Layos was not only defined by his professional accomplishments but also by his zest for life and individuality. Known to love singing Sinatra songs and impersonating Elvis, he brought smiles and laughter to those around him, often dancing to Chubby Checker's "The Twist," embodying an effervescent spirit that endeared him to many.
He is survived by his dear wife Milagros and his children Michael and Christine, who will carry forward the values and ideals instilled in them by their remarkable father.
Dr. Crisanto Layos now rejoins his beloved siblings Guillermo, Marcelina, Andrea, Amado, and Cristeta, as well as his cherished parents, Santiago and Maria, in eternal rest. His departure is felt deeply, yet his legacy will forever remain etched in the hearts of those he touched.
Visitation will be held on February 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 pm at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Faith Chapel in Los Angeles, followed by a Funeral Service at the Old North Church, commencing at 2:30 PM on the same day. Dr. Layos' spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.
