Newton, NH: Courtney A. Griffin, 20, of Newton, NH died on Monday, September 29, 2014.

Born in Lawrence, MA, daughter of Doug and Pamela (Whalen) Griffin, Courtney lived in Salem, NH, where she attended the Fisk School until moving to Newton with her family at the age of eight. She attended Sanborn Middle School and graduated from Sanborn Regional High School with the Class of 2012, where she played the French horn in the band and was a member of the Tennis Club.

She was employed as the inventory control manager at Seacoast Digital Computers in Kingston and was a Charter member of the Kingston Lions Club. She travelled throughout Europe with the People to People Program, took trips to Hawaii, and also most recently to Italy with her family. An independent and outgoing young woman, Courtney was always a shoulder to lean on and was able to bring a smile to your face.

Courtney aspired to be a member of the United States Marine Corps and had already attended Boot Camp. Her major goal in life was to eventually live and work in Hawaii.

She is survived by her parents, Doug and Pamela (Whalen) Griffin of Newton, a sister, Shannon A. Griffin of Salem, NH, two brothers, Joshua D. Griffin of Hudson, NH, and Jeremy Griffin of Spencer, MA, maternal grandmother, Nancy Whalen of Andover, MA, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Courtney's Life Celebration on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 2:30 to 5:45 p.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will take place on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 122 Main Street, Plaistow, NH.
