Corazon Belangue Exevea, 64, born on April 10, 1948, in Quezon City, Philippines, passed away February 6, 2013. She resided in Los Angeles, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
Cora was born to Benjamin & Marcelina Belangue. She was the eldest of 5 children. Growing up, she was like a second mother to her 3 brothers and sister.
She graduated from Perpetual Help Hospital School of Nursing in 1971, and practiced her profession until she departed for Canada in 1973. Cora always dreamt of going abroad in order to help her family.
In Canada, God guided her to a young man named Amador Exevea. The two became inseparable and were married August 30, 1977. In 1978, Cora gave birth to her one and only daughter Evelyn.
In 1982 Cora relocated her family to sunny southern California, USA. In California, Cora worked vigorously to provide a happy family filled life. Her home became the starting point for many relatives, including her sister Carole and parents. It was also the center for many joyous and memorable gatherings among family and friends.
Cora's love of life was best felt when she laughed. Her enjoyment of friends and family could be seen by her ear to ear smile. She was an active woman, whether it was working, cleaning the house, or calling just to see how you were doing. Cora always had to be moving and ensuring that those she loved knew she was thinking about them.
She was a strong matriarch and her influence and sacrifice are a lesson and inspiration to all who knew her. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend, Cora worked hard to ensure the well being and success of all whom she cared for.
Cora's radiance was generated by her faith and belief that God loves her and would guide her. She happily sacrificed for the betterment of her family. She cherished her time with friends, and always allotted time to give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ.
She will be deeply missed, but we are comforted in knowing that she is with God and will always be watching over us.
