Conrado Cristal Santiago

1948 – 2026

Conrado Santiago, a devoted husband, father, and U.S. Navy veteran, passed away on June 28, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born on Reyes Street in Dalahican, Cavite City, Philippines.

Conrado served in the U.S. Navy from January 9, 1976, to January 31, 2002, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer — the second-highest enlisted rank in the Navy. His decorations include the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and Navy Commendation Medal. He often spoke of the discipline, friendships, and sense of purpose those 26 years gave him.

After retiring from the Navy, Conrado continued a life of steady service, working for the Long Beach Unified School District and later as a service clerk for the Long Beach Postal Service.

Above all, Conrado was a family man. He raised his children with quiet devotion, and those who knew him will remember his integrity, loyalty, generous heart, and unwavering love for the people around him. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and a wide circle of family, friends and shipmates whose lives he touched.

Conrado's legacy of kindness, discipline, and devotion will live on in all who loved him.
