Conchita Castro Gonzales

June 23, 1932 — June 6, 2017

Conchita Castro Gonzales, 84, born on June 23, 1932, in Philippines, passed away June 6, 2017. She resided in Long Beach, California, at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

Maiden name: Conchita Castro Gonzales
Married name: Conchita Gonzales Leandado
June 23, 1932 June 6, 2017

She was born to Vicente and Nicolasa Gonzales in Labrador, Pangasinan Philippines. She had 8 brothers and 1 sister (may all their souls rest in peace)
Conching / Conchay – her nickname for those that knew her from Philippines. But when she came to US, she wanted to be called "Connie"
My mother, Conchita Castro Gonzales met my father Arsenio Leandado via a pen pal writing. (now a days in social media, is facebook, chat, etc.)
My father was a serviceman in US Navy and one of his co-serviceman was the first cousin of my mom. Cut the story short, met, fell in love, got married and there was me.
My mother Conchita was a great mother, beloved grandmother and cheerful great grandmother.
Being an only child, she was strict but always taught me about strong faith, hard work, strong values, and intellectual pursuits in life.
My husband, Rafael and I are so fortunate that my mother was the biggest support we have with our 3 children. As a grandmother, from their births thru young adults, my mother helped us with the foundation of what Ralph, Karen and Alyssa have become today.
In July 2015, she became a great grandmother to Ralph and Disney's first born child, William and another one on the way.
In closing, I wanted to say that we are so blessed to have shared those years with my mother. We will miss her with all of our hearts and forever cherish the times we spent together. We love you Mom!
I know that she is standing at the gates of heaven, breathing in huge breaths of heavenly air, smiling and welcomed by her family and friends.
