Conchita (Nene) Naviamos Antaran passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, in Newport Beach California. She was born in Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Pandan, Antique, Philippines on February 4, 1938 to Diosdado Naviamos & Josefa Ausan.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Wenceslao Antaran Sr. and was blessed with seven (7) wonderful, successful children, twenty (20) beautiful grandchildren and four (4) great grandchildren. She was proud of having a large and loving family. She finished high school in Pandan Bay Institute, Pandan Antique Philippines. During high school years she was known for her beauty and grace. She was also a majorette which was a big honor at that time. She attended college in La Concordia Manila but did not finish her degree because she opted to marry her childhood sweetheart.
Conchita was synonymous to GENEROSITY. She loved to help out and found happiness in lending a helping hand. She would give her last penny to a fault. She was nurturing and a very sociable person. She can easily meet new acquaintances and became friends for life. She was also fashionable, loved to dance and always a life of the party. She was fondly known as "Dancing Queen"!
Conchita was an expert Barong Tagalog (Philippine men's national costume) maker. She used to work at one of the most prestigious couturiers (Pierre Cardin). Her clients included prominent politicians and successful entrepreneurs in the country, and she was proud of this accomplishment.
She loved to sew dresses exclusively for her 5 daughters. When they were growing up in the Philippines, she used to make matching outfit to dress them up and found joy in seeing them look beautiful wearing her creations.
Conchita was a very devout Roman Catholic. She instilled in her children to be God fearing and place God to be the center of their lives.
In 1986, along with the entire family, they migrated to the US, and the rest was a happy and successful history. She was a lifelong member of Pagtatap Foundation USA, a non-profit organization geared towards medical mission etc. of Pandan and neighboring towns.
She is survived by her beloved seven children namely: Merlene (Ken), Jun (Sophie), Marivic (Richard) Tess (Ray), William, Paz (Gary) and Ping. She is also survived by her twenty (20) grandchildren, Kevin, John Paul, John Vincent, John Benedict, Yoshito, RJ, Junimar, Arisa Marie, Hazel, Kiersten, Wences, Chelsy, Audrey, JR, Wesley, Mikki, Xy-za (Steven), John, Des, MJ and four (4) great grandchildren, Ryuichi, Xavia, Blessy.and Marcus.
She will forever be loved and remain in our hearts.
