Concha "Connie" Sendejas

Concha "Connie" Sendejas 88, born on September 9, 1930 in Scottsdale, Arizona peacefully entered into rest on May 11, 2019 surrounded by her family. Connie retired from Wiggins Connectors Division in the late 80's, she was the first woman hired as a machinist in the history of the company. After retirement Connie devoted her time to raising her grandchildren and also served her community by overseeing a food bank at The Center for Independent Living in the City of Covina.
Connie was awarded several prestigious awards by the City of Los Angeles and the State of California for her public service.
She loved to cook Mexican food her specialties were tamales and salsa. The Los Angeles Times Newspaper featured her tamale recipe in the early 70's.

Connie is survived by her 4 children, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, her loving sister, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers Connie's wishes were to have a food drive in her honor. Collection baskets will be available at Forest Lawn the day of services. All food collected will be given to a local food distribution organization.
