Concepcion R. Jimenez

Concepcion "Concha" Reyes Jimenez was called to be with the Lord on October 21, 2016. She was born on December 8, 1918 in El Paso, Texas to Policarpio and Ascencion Reyes. The family migrated to California in 1926 and settled in the Coachella Valley. Concha worked for many years in the packing house industry and later in the hospitality industry. She enjoyed listening to Spanish radio, dancing Rancheras with her sons and grandsons, and listening to her favorite sports team, the Dodgers on the radio. She loved being surrounded by her family. She is survived by her nine children, Josephine Gomez, Inez Moreno, Tom Ramirez, Irene Jimenez, Dolores Ahumada, David Jimenez, Victor Jimenez, Daniel Jimenez and Richard Jimenez; 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Henry and Tom Reyes; her sister, Hortencia Avon; and her husband, Estanislao Jimenez. We will miss her kind and gracious nature, her beautiful smile, and her tender love and kisses. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Lawn Mortuary, 51-990 Jackson St., Coachella, CA 92236. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. A mass will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Bliss in Indio at 10:00 am. Internment will follow at the Coachella Valley Cemetery.
