Colleen Sullivan Cardinale, was called home by the Lord, in the early morning hours of July 19, 2013. She was the only child born to Albert E. Sullivan and Dorothy Lois Hunt Sullivan of Glendale, CA. She was the granddaughter of one of Glendale's first doctors, Dr. D. W. Hunt. Colleen lived her entire life in the communities of Sparr Heights, Montrose and La Crescenta.

Colleen and Vincent S. Cardinale were married in 1947. They remained married for fifty-four years until Vince's death in 2001.

Mrs. Cardinale was active in her community. She served as a cubscout den mother and a Blue Bird leader. She worked as a medical assistant in several local physicians' offices, and volunteered at Verdugo Hills Hospital for twenty-four years.

The 1942 Glendale High School graduate was a member of New Beginnings and Pioneer Senior Clubs. She was also a lifetime member of St. Luke's of the Mountains and St. Luke's Anglican Church.

Mrs. Cardinale is survived by her son, Gary Cardinale (Janet) of Yorba Linda, California, a daughter, Jan Smith (Bill) of La Crescenta, grandchildren, Ryan Cardinale (Colleen), Christopher Cardinale (Shannon), Lindsay Cardinale, Sabrina Geoghagen (John), Shane Smith, Adam Smith and Reid Smith, and great grandchildren Maddi Cardinale, Cody Cardinale and Isabella Geoghagen. A fourth great grandchild is due to be born to Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Cardinale in November.

Colleen is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Kathyrn La Mantia, and nieces Joanne Mc Lawton, Sally Beauchane (Art) and Susie May (Larry).

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Cardinale on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 2:00 p. m. at Forest Lawn Glendale in the chapel Wee Kirk O' the Heather.
