Clifford Wong

Clifford Hayes Wong, Age 94, died at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center on December 20, 2023.

He was born on July 26th, 1929 in Portland, Oregon, where he lived until he moved to Corvallis, OR to attend college at Oregon State University. He graduated OSU where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1951. He went on to attend University of Oregon Dental School where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree in 1955. He was drafted into the Air Force after graduation and was stationed in Itazuke, Japan, as a captain. He provided dental care to over 15,000 people on base for two years. After his military service, he returned home to Portland Oregon, to teach at the dental school as an associate professor for a year until he opened his own dental practice in Hacienda Heights, CA in early 1959.

He met Catherine Chow in Los Angeles, CA, and married her on July 25, 1959. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Esther Wong, his brothers, Gilford and Bruce Wong, and his sister Joanne Chan. He is survived by his wife, Catherine, their daughter, Charlene, their sons, Carey and Christopher, and five grandchildren, Nicole, Natalie, Noelle, Lauren, and Alec. He is also survived by 8 nephews, and a

niece.

He was fond of good food, spending time with his family, walking his dogs, and telling the same story over and over.
