Clement Bernard Mills completed his time on this planet on Friday April 26, 2024 at the age of 89 years 9 months, and 17 days. He lived and died, as he wanted, at his longtime residence in Lake View Terrace in Los Angeles County, California. Clement was a loving and loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, sibling, and son. His living descendants at the time of his death are two children (Elizabeth Lorraine "Lorrie" Clark and Clement Bernard "Bernie" Mills II), eight grandchildren (Caleb Mills, Tabitha Mills, Carissa Mills, Nathan Clark, Abigail Clark, Olivia Clark, Samantha Mills, and Luke Mills), and one great-grandchild (Jacob Mills). He is also survived by his siblings (Brontie Mills, Madeline Roberts, Jeanne Meehan, Gavin Mills, Pearson Mills, Joan Mills, Jane Berry, and Jennifer Simmons), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Clement had an exceptional love for his grandchildren and they all loved him tremendously.

Clement was born on July 9, 1934 on the island of St. Kitts, which was part of the British West Indies at that time, to Bernard Oliver Mills and Agatha Liburd. His British accent was prominent throughout his life. He moved to the island of Antigua where he met the love of his life, Everette "Rettie" Godiva Rey at a chapel meeting. Clement moved to the United States in 1955, joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956, and married Rettie in the Borough of Hackney in London, England in 1958.

Clement and Rettie moved to Los Angeles, California in the early '60s because of Clement's dislike of the winters in Brooklyn, New York. Clement drove them across the country towing a trailer and had several stories from that trip. He attended Northrup Institute of Technology and started working at IBM where he would have several roles until he retired after 27 years.

Clement was a student of history, an avid audiophile, a car buff, a racing enthusiast, a firearms aficionado, an aircraft fan, and a lover of all things mechanical. He was involved in real estate and bought and sold properties in the West Indies. Clement was an engineer, an architect, a builder, a welder, an inventor, a sailor, and a scuba diver. He would answer if you called him Clem but he had a definitively expressed preference for being called Clement.

By God's grace, Clement was a disciple of Jesus Christ, a child of God the Father, and a temple of the Holy Spirit. Clement was a minister who proclaimed the gospel to a world that needs to hear it. He was a life-long learner and willing to teach what he knew. Clement could be as infuriating as he was endearing, and he is deeply missed.
