Claro Oduca

April 18, 1950 — November 4, 2023

Chino Hills

Claro Oduca, 73, born on April 18, 1950, suddenly and sadly passed away November 04, 2023 in Dubai, UAE (United Arab Emirates) on the final day of his vacation. His wife Emma, sister in-law Vangie Roque and her husband Romeo were by his side at his passing. His son Eric flew to Dubai to help bring everyone back home. Claro lived in Chino Hills, California at the time of his death.

Born in the Philippines to Rufino and Soledad Oduca on April 18, 1950. Claro graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1974. Claro resided in Southern California, where he and his wife happily raised their family.

Claro is survived by his wife, Emma; children, Clyde (Terri), Clifford (Alice), Chris (Anna), Eric, and Edric (Lauren); grandchildren, Audrey, Matthew, Melody, Molly, Levi and Eila; sister Corazon; brothers Leonido and Laudencio (Jocelyn); and many extended family members.

Family has always been the most joyful part of Claro’s life. He often expressed immense pride in what he considered his greatest success - a lifelong union with the woman of his dreams and the five boys they were blessed with. Claro held a deep affection for his family, taking genuine pride in their accomplishments. Claro and his wife Emma worked hard to help provide a good future for their children.

Claro made sure his kids got to know their uncles, aunts, and cousins by building strong family connections. Every moment spent with his extended family held significant value for him. He especially had a close connection to his brother Laudencio. After their childhood in the Philippines, they decided to move to the United States to live the American dream. Like many who attempt the unknown, their path was not without difficulties. They struggled together alongside their wives in trying to provide opportunity for their family’s futures, but with determination and hard work, they accomplished their dream. Throughout it all, they were inseparable and could often be found at each other’s houses.

One of the admirable traits about Claro was his big heart. He generously supported his parents and pitched in to help his siblings when they needed it. He was mindful of the precious life he shared with his loved ones, never allowing gratitude to slip away. His last remaining years were spent traveling the world with his wife and visiting places that the two of them had dreamed about. In his final days, he was touring the beautiful city of Dubai, a place he had longed to see for quite some time.
