Clarice Ortega Cline Murdoch Smith, 86, born on January 11, 1936, in New Roads, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, United States, passed away April 12, 2022. Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco "Frank" Benny Ortega and Lottie Bell Smith; her step-father, Johnnie Paskel Cline; her siblings, Margarita Ortega, Alice Ortega, Johnnie Ortega [Johnnie Cline, Jr], Benny Ortega Cline, and Patsy Ann Cline; her former husbands, Charles Franklin Murdoch, Sr. and James Louis Smith, Sr.; her son, Johnnie Murdoch, her grandson, Johnathon James Murdoch, and her granddaughter, April Lynn Murdoch.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Yvonne Murdoch Trias, and by her son, Charles Franklin Murdoch, Jr.; her siblings, Carl Richard Cline, Sr. and Lynn Cline; her grandchildren, Marissa Murdoch Diaz (Roberto), Rogelio Quiamzon Murdoch Trias (Naomi), Christine Murdoch Trias Castro (Melvin), Lottie Bell Murdoch, and Mary Beatrice Aguilar; her great-grandchildren, Roberto Diaz, Jr., Maximiliano Diaz, Rogelio Quiamzon Riesien Trias, Kaliya Marie Trias, Jacob Evan Castro, Nicholas Ian Castro, Logan Charles Delgado, Wyatt Eric Delgado, and Jackson Charles Murdoch; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, outlaws, step-relations, and friends.

She had many temporary jobs throughout her life, but was primarily a homemaker. Also, known, by many, as Clair or "Aunt Tanny", she enjoyed church, camping, fishing, trips to Vegas, visiting with family and friends, dressing up, and going dancing. She loved flowers, gardens, painted rocks, and collecting antiques for the boutique she always dreamed of opening.

She has resided in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and all over southern California, including: Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, Long Beach, Bellflower, Montebello, Lake Elsinore, Chula Vista, and Riverside. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She passed peacefully at home, with her daughter by her side, on her "Scoshi Hill," in Riverside, California. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
