Clare Yvonne Bogdon

Clare Bogdon was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on Oct. 27, 1928
to James and Winifred McGowan. Her father died when she was 12. Clare learned her gift, determination, and faith from her mother
who used babysitting money to raise her.

Clare studied nursing in Youngstown, Ohio and graduated
in 1949 with her RN degree. Moving shortly afterwards to
Philadelphia, she met Dr. Donald Bogdon on a blind date. They
soon discovered they had been delivered at the same hospital
by the same doctor. A year later they married on June 11, 1955.
In 1963, after her husband completed his residency at the
Mayo clinic, they moved to Glendale, California.

Possessing a great sense of humor, Clare enjoyed hearing
and telling jokes. Her laughter could fill a room and put a smile
on everyone's face. She attended all her children's and grandchildren's school events, sporting events, religious and academic ceremonies,
and was a constant cheerleader to the family.

Clare a devout Catholic, was a member of Incarnation Church in
Glendale for over 40 years. She had been a long-time member of
Oakmont CC, where she liked to golf, play bridge, dance and socialize. Her love of travel took her to all 7 continents.

Clare is survived by her loving husband Don of 65 years, 4 children, Michelle Bogdon, Don Bogdon Jr., Maurenn Bogdon-Morrow (Jeff),
Kevin Bogdon (Serena) and 3 granddaughters, Kaela and Kelli Morrow, and Kesena Bogdon. We will miss her dearly.
