Clara Durre

Clara C. Durre was born on April 17, 1938, in Seoul, Korea. She departed from us peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Fountain Valley, California. Clara's life was a remarkable journey and beautiful testament to resilience, dedication, and love.

In 1963, Clara made the courageous journey to the United States, first finding her way in the warm embrace of Hawaii before marrying and settling in Germantown Hills, Illinois, in 1964. It was here that Clara embraced the joys of motherhood, raising three sons while fervently pursuing her passion for learning. Her determination led her pursue formal education and later attend cosmetology school, where she earned her license and began a lifelong career at JCPenney. Clara eventually moved to Northridge, California, to care for her beloved mother, Dal Boon (Reda) Lee, and dedicated herself to her work, achieving the respected title of Master Stylist. Her artistry and unparalleled service touched the lives of many clients, several of whom she continued to care for until 2023.

Clara was not only a gifted stylist but also a devoted member of Chunbukyo Church in Los Angeles. It was there that she found solace, community, spiritual fulfillment, and cherished friendships.

Clara is lovingly survived by her three cherished sons: Joe Durre and his wife Suzette, Don Durre and his wife Tracy, and Tony Durre. She leaves behind a precious legacy in the form of her six grandchildren: Alan, Antoinette, Brandon, Colby, Dawson, and Joselyn, as well as two great-grandchildren, James and Jude, who brought her immense joy.

In honor of Clara's remarkable life, a vigil will be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills in the Old North Church from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on February 27th. The funeral services will follow at the same location on February 28th at 2:30 PM.

Clara C. Durre's legacy of love, dedication, and excellence will remain etched in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
