Christopher Joseph Wilke

May 28, 2001 — March 20, 2014

It was 6:18am and 60°on May 28th 2001 when Christopher Joseph Wilke decided it was time he entered this world and start to change lives for the better everywhere. He was born at Providence Saint Joseph Hospital just 2.15 miles from where he spent his next 12.8 years

Christopher devoted a good chunk of his 153.9 months here on this earth not just playing baseball but loving it and living it with a passion on and off the field with his teams, The Giants and The Ryan Dodgers, his teammates and best friends always by his side. If not on the field you only had to take a drive past the Wilke home and you would more often than not find him in the front yard throwing a ball around with his Dad Joe and younger brother Daniel. Even though he sometimes wore the Dodger Blues he was an Angels fan through and through.

During the 669.3 weeks Christopher grew from a wee Tiger Scout to full fledged Boy Scout in Troop 209. He pushed up through the ranks earning a multitude of awards, badges and even more friends along the way.

On a few dozen of the 4,685.1 days granted him, were spent at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, where he gave service as an Alter Server.

His Dad had built a G scale train track in the back yard before Christopher was even born. But as soon as he was able stand the collecting, building, maintenance and running of those trains became the passion of young Christopher. Throughout his 112,443.2 hours with us this special world of trains was without a doubt the place Christopher found himself to be most at peace in.

In the 6,746,595 minutes of Christopher Joseph Wilke's life he managed to touch thousands of peoples hearts. His big baby blues, glowing smile, all American charm and thirst for life were contagious.

Christopher's 404,795,700 seconds where filled with the love and adoration of his Dad Joe, Mom Lisa, younger brother Daniel, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends all who will morn his physical absence but will be comforted knowing he's just across home plate. Watching, cheering and waiting for them with high fives all around.

In the last moments of Christopher's 12 years 9 months 29 days 3 hours 15 minutes, at exactly 9:33am and again 60° on March 20th 2014, wrapped in the warm embraces of his Mom, Dad, brother and priest, this angel, Christopher Joseph Wilke slid home with the bravery and beauty with which he lived his brilliant young life….

As you have read every moment is priceless, precious and best lived to it's fullest. That is exactly how Christopher chose to live all his moments.

Christopher, the presence of your absence is everywhere………………… !
