Christopher Allan Ondatje

Christopher Allan Ondatje, 85, born on March 10, 1934, in Sri Lanka formerly Ceylon, passed away September 3, 2019. He resided in Monterey Park, CA at the time of his passing. Christopher is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria and his two children, Michelle and Aundre as well as by his grandchildren, Kristin, Kaitlyn, and Michael as well as by his son-in-law, Enrique who he saw as a second son. Christopher believed in putting others before himself and always focused on making the world a better place. As immigrant in a new place, Christopher found his place in the world and did many jobs until he found his passion as Animal Control Officer. His wife, children and grandchildren recall the many stories of his adventures from his childhood through his job. He also found a special relationship with God and the Mother Mary, seeing them as a guidance in his time of need. Christopher understood that when his time came that he knew that many wanted to celebrate his life with a service but Christopher's final wishes was to "make no fuss" and "be at peace." Christopher was loved by many and he will not be forgotten as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California as he is being cremated.
