Our charismatic and handsome son unexpectedly passed away on Saturday morning. Known as CJ to most people that knew him, he was raised in two loving homes in So. Cal The Valley. Outwardly looking at CJ, he looked like he had it all: Intelligence, confidence, athletic ability, height, beautiful blue/grey eyes, broad smile, fantastic wit, great sense of humor and the ability to engage and forge a relationship with anyone. Inwardly CJ was sensitive and had struggles that he hid well from his close family and friends.
We loved CJ with all of our hearts, but we now know that was not enough to shield him from the world.
CJ attended Crispi Catholic High School and furthered his education and athletics at College of the Canyons where he was a decent student, a very aggressive football player, and a likeable young man. With his seemingly endless positive traits, he had the potential to be anything from a professional football player to a successful writer, he even liked politics⦠the sky was the limit for our son.
As With any contact sport it brings pain and with pain brings the Drs Meds. While we always felt we had some grip on CJ` issues, his ability to hide and disguise his use of pain meds proved superior to our parental sixth sense. The worry that we have felt watching CJ struggle, has been replaced by a deep feeling of loss that now exists knowing we will never see his smiling face again. Despite these troubles, we can smile knowing that the last communication we had with CJ was "I will be right back Dad" and a "goodnight" to his Mom. The Memories we have and all the great pictures will give us strength to continue.
Goodbye CJ, we will love you and miss you so very very much you will always be in our hearts. Keep the light on, until we meet again Son, Love you, Mom & Dad.
