Christopher M. Chester, 9, of Sandown, died Friday evening, October 23, 2015, after being stricken ill near his home.
Born in Manchester, son of William H. Chester and Sharon B. Melanson, he was presently a fourth grade student at Sandown North Elementary School and a member of Saint Anne's Parish of Hampstead.
A kind and thoughtful young man, Christopher was a member of the 4-H Club of Chester and the Granite State Bow Hunters. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, yard work, horseback riding, boating and riding ATV's and was presently learning to play the saxophone. He was an animal enthusiast and was very devoted to his dog "Jethro" and enjoyed spending time on Pleasant Lake in Stetson, Maine.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, William H. Chester and Sharon B. Melanson, his brother William H. Chester, Jr., and sister Emma L. Melanson, all of Sandown, his paternal grandparents, John and Julie (Chadwick) Chester, of Atkinson, and maternal grandparents, Richard Melanson of Millis, MA and Julia (Beaver) Melanson of Peabody, MA and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Christopher's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. from the funeral home with a Liturgy of the Word at 1 p.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead. Burial will follow in Atkinson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Christopher Chester by Kathryn Saffie Go Fund Me Account.
