Christine Ann (DiBetta) Vincik, of Palos Verdes Estates, California, gently passed away with her family by her side at the age of 88 years in Carlsbad, California.
She was born on the morning of August 3, 1930 at home on River Street in New Rochelle, New York to Domenico and Anna (Fortuna) DiBetta, who two years prior immigrated to the United States in 1928 from Stefanaconi, Region of Calabria, Italy. Shortly after, the family moved to Mamaroneck, New York where Christine was a long-time resident of 41 years.
Christine graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1947. She took a job as an Intelligence Secretary in the First Air Force at Fort Slocum, David's Island, in New Rochelle New York. During her employment as a civilian in the First Air Force, she met Edwin Edward Vincik, Staff Sargent from Shiner Texas.
Christine and Edward were married on April 8, 1951 at Saint Vito's in Mamaroneck, New York and relocated to Manhattan Beach, California. In 1954, the couple returned to Mamaroneck, New York so Christine could help care for her mother. In 1956, they had a son, Brian Vincik. The family resided in Mamaroneck until 1971 when they moved to Palos Verdes Estates, California where they lived for 47 years.
Christine's interests included interior decorating, poetry, traveling around the world, painting and collecting art. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Family was everything to her and she lived her life giving and caring for others.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Vincik (2012), her brothers Frank DiBetta (2005) and Joseph DiBetta (2017). She is survived by her sister Libby Minisci of White Plains NY, brother Nicholas DiBetta of Connecticut, son Brian Vincik, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Vincik and only grandson, Cooper Vincik of Rancho Santa Fe, California.
Services will be held on June 8, 2019 at 2:30pm at The Church of the Recessional. Christine with be interred alongside her husband of over 60 years, Edwin Edward Vincik at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale California in the Sanctuary of Celestial Peace section of the Great Mausoleum.
