Christina Gill Obituary

Christina Gill, lovingly known as Chris, passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 64 in Palm Springs, California. She was born on September 2, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio to Earl and Sarah Van Why. Christina was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse for 40 years.

From an early age, it was evident that Christina possessed a nurturing and compassionate nature. Always putting others before herself, she selflessly dedicated herself to the well-being of her patients. Her dedication and kindness earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike.

Outside of her career as a nurse, Christina had a wide range of interests and hobbies. She had a particular affection for Raggedy Ann dolls and was an avid collector. Curling up with a good book brought her immense joy as she was a true bookworm. Additionally, she was a diehard fan of Ohio State Football and never missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite team.

Traveling was also one of Christina's passions. Exploring new places and experiencing different cultures enriched her life. However, above all else, spending time with her family brought her the greatest happiness. She cherished each moment she had with them and created countless memories that will be treasured forever.

Christina also had a strong commitment to giving back to her community. She devoted considerable time mentoring young women through Rainbow, positively shaping their lives and empowering them to reach their full potential.

Undoubtedly, Christina's proudest accomplishments were raising three children alongside her loving husband Ron Gill. Their marriage endured for 45 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Diana Oliger, Caroline Rifold, and John Gill were blessed to call Christina their mother.

The joy of Christina's life extended to her role as a grandmother. She had the privilege of being called "Gommy" by Holden Rifold and Elliot Rifold, her "pumpkin" and "sweet pea", two grandsons who brought immense joy to her days.

Christina's memory will be forever cherished by her surviving family and friends. Alongside her husband Ron, her children Diana, Caroline, and John will continue to carry her love in their hearts. Her grandchildren Holden and Elliot will be reminded that their Gommy was a loving presence who enriched their lives.

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to Christina Gill, but we take comfort in knowing that she lived a life filled with love, kindness, and selflessness. Her legacy will continue to inspire others to care for each other and make a positive impact in their communities.

A funeral service in honor of Christina's life will be held on January 27, 2024, at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Church of the Hills in Los Angeles, California. The service will begin at 9:30 am with a reception following. The address for the church is 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

In conclusion, we celebrate the life of Christina Gill—a remarkable nurse, a devoted wife and mother, a beloved grandmother, and a kind-hearted friend. Her loving nature touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
