In loving memory of Christiaan William te Winkel, known to many as Chris, a talented husband, father, son, and brother, who touched the lives of those around him with his kind heart and unwavering love for his Lord, family, friends, and the arts. Chris was born on August 24, 1968, in Koudekerk aan den Rijn, de Nederlandse provincie Zuid-Holland, and he peacefully passed away on March 7, 2024, in Los Angeles.

A man of deep faith and morals, Chris found solace in teaching his son Matthew the word of God by reading the Bible every night in both English and Dutch. He proudly taught Matthew his second language, Dutch. His love for his family extended beyond words - being always present for his wife, Mihaela, driving Matthew to school every day, stopping to play a short game of soccer, or watching the Netherlands in full Dutch orange gear every World Cup, always hoping they win this one time. Best memories were spent cherishing precious moments at home with Matthew and Mihaela or embarking on road trips to explore new horizons.

Chris led a remarkable life filled with passion for everything classical music, opera. His fondness for Bruckner, Mahler, and Bach symphonies and operas among many other composers, and the sounds of his favorite music will forever echo through the halls of our hearts. His creative spirit shone through his work and his love for Brand/Graphic Design, Commercial Sign Art, and traveling.  He found joy in attending classical music concerts in various cities such as Winston Salem, New York, San Diego, Boston, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam, coaching Matthew in soccer, and proudly watching every game Matthew played, from his young years in soccer to HS Varsity football and Basketball. Chris's presence at these events warmed up the hearts of those around him.

His dedication to education mirrored his commitment to excellence in all aspects of life. Chris held a Bachelor of Science degree in Geographical Information Systems from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and, he found joy in traveling, and driving on road trips with loved ones by his side while exploring new destinations steeped in history. He loved listening to Apologetics and anything Bible based teaching-related, as his faith was founded on sound biblical truth.

Chris had a deep faith in His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that carried him throughout his life. He lived by his favorite verse, Isaiah 40:31 - They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and mount up with wings like eagles - and his proudest accomplishments are serving through everyday actions and deeds while being a pillar of strength for his wife Mihaela and beloved son Matthew. Chris left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Described as sweet-hearted, loyal, forgiving, and brilliant, he inspired others with his soft-spoken nature and genuine kindness.

Through the highs and lows of life's journey, Chris remained resilient. Despite battling glioblastoma multiforme for five and a half years until its reoccurrence in late 2022, he faced each day with courage and grace. The care he received at Cedars Sinai Medical Center was exceptional, a testament to the love and support surrounding him.

Chris is survived by his loving wife Mihaela D. te Winkel; cherished son Matthew te Winkel; devoted mother Lillian te Winkel; caring father Henry te Winkel; beloved sister Wendy Moscinski; and numerous nieces & nephews.

As we gather to remember Chris at Forest Lawn - Glendale to celebrate his life during the visitation on March 20th followed by the funeral service at Church of the Recessional on March 21st let us hold dear the memories we shared with him.
