In Loving Memory of Chiquitita Glory Annisa
Chiquitita was born on December 18, 1999 in Jakarta, Indonesia. She grew up in Jakarta and moved to California at the age of 9. Growing up, she was a sassy and outgoing girl, always surrounded by many friends. She was a girly girl through and through, often found tottering around in her mother’s heels, playing with her makeup, and casting herself as the “model” in playtime while her sister happily played the assistant. Chiqui’s childhood shaped her into someone who was soft, nurturing, and protective.
Chiqui will be remembered as a soul of elegance, warmth, and creativity. Protective of her loved ones and deeply devoted to them, she carried herself with a gentle and graceful aura — the kind that made people feel instantly at ease. She had a love for all the delicate and feminine joys in life such as, flowers, perfumes, little trinkets, and the beauty of small details.
Chiqui enjoyed reading, drawing, and crocheting — from making cute outfits for herself to cozy sweaters for her beloved dogs. She loved and cherished her books, making lists of what she had and hadn’t read yet and even buying book covers to preserve them. As a child, she dreamt of becoming a fashion designer, a dream that inspired her to begin drawing from an early age and never stopped her from filling pages with her doodles well into adulthood.
When she would walk into a room, her presence was truly undeniable. Her laugh was so bright, unmistakable, and full of life that it could be heard from across the room. All of her friends describe her as someone who made their day brighter every time they saw her.
Chiqui was also deeply nurturing, even as a child — gently holding a glass and straw for her younger sister, encouraging her to drink water or even rubbing her back when she had trouble sleeping after their mom left the bedroom. Chiqui was also a quiet and content baby, her mother often described how she never cried on planes, but she grew into someone whose presence was anything but quiet — a presence filled with laughter, compassion, and creativity.
To know Chiqui was to feel her warmth. She made the people around her feel seen, cared for, and loved. She carried a quiet strength and a grace that touched everyone who had the privilege of being part of her life.
Chiqui’s life, though far too short, was filled with beauty — not just in the things she loved, but in the way she loved others. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she brightened with her kindness. Her absence leaves an ache that cannot be filled, and we will carry her memory in our hearts for the rest of our days.
Chiqui, we love you so much and we will never stop missing you. We feel blessed knowing that we gained the most beautiful guardian angel.
