Lovingly known as "Supermom" to the joys of her life Jake and Sydney, Cheryl Ann Harris, passed away on January 17th at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California with husband Greg, mother Jane and brother Brian by her side.
Cheryl was born on January 1, 1975 in Queens, New York to Richard and Jane Jinings. Her family then moved to San Diego, California in 1977 where she spent the majority of her life and earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego. It was also in San Diego, Ocean Beach to be more specific, where she met her future husband Greg Harris. He fell in love with Cheryl the minute he laid his eyes on her. They were married in 2001 and Cheryl and Greg later moved to the Coachella Valley in 2008. For the past seven years they lived a happy and full family life raising Jake and Sydney.
At only 41 years of age, her time spent on earth was much too brief, but the lives she touched, the people she inspired and the family she loved all benefitted from being a part of Cheryl's life. She made a positive and lasting impact to numerous people during her life and in losing Cheryl, we lost not only a great mother, a loving daughter, a caring sister, a loyal friend and a perfect wife, but a true difference maker to all that knew her.
Cheryl was the family's rock. Strong and dependable, she was always willing and able to help her family, friends and even strangers. An accomplished real estate broker, Cheryl assisted many single moms and young families find a house that they could call home and nothing brought her greater pleasure than helping good families find a good home. To Cheryl, real estate was not about prices and commissions, but about creating homes where families could feel safe, grow together and make lasting memories. Cheryl wanted to positively impact the lives of others and this was her way of doing so.
Cheryl's energy, strength, kindness, honesty, unselfishness and gorgeous smile have affected the lives of many and will always be remembered. More importantly, these wonderful traits will live on in her two beautiful children, Jake and Sydney who are true gifts that made her so proud. Cheryl is survived by her husband Greg, son Jake, daughter Sydney, mother Jane, father Rick, brother Brian and the dozens upon dozens of people fortunate enough to call her their friend.
Cheryl's funeral will take place on Friday, January 29th at 12pm at Forest Lawn located at 69855 E. Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234. She will be laid to rest across the street at Desert Memorial Park. Immediately afterwards Cheryl's husband Greg and the rest of her family invites you to join them at The O'Donnell House in Palm Springs (412 W. Tahquitz Way) to share memories and stories about Cheryl's life, or just to have a drink in honor of a truly incredible woman.
Words cannot describe how much we love and miss you Cheryl.
