Charlotte Ortega passed away in her home in Long Beach on October 22nd, 2023. She was born on May 26, 1936, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Ray and Myrtle Askland. She grew up with her siblings in Des Moines, Iowa and attended Lincoln High School. It was at Lincoln High School she met her high school sweetheart, John Ortega.
Charlotte was a devoted mother to four sons: Rick, Tim, Tony and Tom. Charlotte enjoyed 53 years of marriage with her husband, John, who departed in 2007.
Charlotte is rembered for her wittiness, humor and charm. She loved spending time with her family and never missed a Lakers game! She enjoyed playing games like majong and solitare and loved her chocolate and sweets.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, John and grandson, Jason. Her legacy lives on through her brother, four sons, many grandkids and great grandchildren.
