Charline Pridy

Charline Gay Pridy, age 92, passed peacefully at her daughter's home in Long Beach, California on December 17, 2024. She was fondly referred to by many as TuTu, grandmother in Hawaiian, where she and her husband Ken Pridy of 70 years lived for almost 30 years. Returning to California to be close to their grandchildren and later great grandchildren, TuTu resided in Signal Hill and enjoyed “swinging her feet and enjoying the view” from the top of the hill. Tutu was an active homemaker raising three children many times acting as Mother and Father while her husband worked 24 hour shifts on the Long Beach Fire Department. She was active in the PTA and recipient of the Lifetime Membership Award. Following in her Mother’s footsteps, Tutu was also a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

She is survived by daughters Cindie Pridy (Johanna Ortiz) and Jennifer Mathis (Steve Story), grandchildren Blake Mathis, Britney Krugman, grandson-in-law Aaron Krugman, and great grandchildren Abigail and Jacob Krugman.

Services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 11:30AM at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries, Patriots Chapel Forest Lawn Cypress. 4477 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, California. Internment to follow grave site. Tutu wishes it to be in Hawaiian/Resort casual attire. Celebration of life starting at 2:30PM at Long Beach Yacht Club. 6201 Appian Way, Long Beach, California.
