Danville, NH: Charles O. "Chuck" Rivers, 49, of Danville and formerly of Plaistow died on July 19, 2016 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry.

Born in Lake Placid, NY, son of Lois (Burl) Rivers and the late Lawrence Rivers, Chuck attended Saranac Lake High School and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College. Following high school, Chuck served in the United States Army.

Chuck was employed as a mechanic for Rent-A-Wreck in Plaistow, Sears Automotive, and Epping Motors until his visual impairment forced his retirement. He was most recently employed at Auger Landscaping in Hampstead.

A member of the First Baptist Church of Plaistow and the Danville Baptist Church, Chuck was also a member of the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind of Smithtown, NY and the New Hampshire Association for the Blind.

Chuck loved all things mechanical. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and playing darts. He also enjoyed spending time at Tony's Junkyard in Haverhill.

He is survived by his partner and wife of twenty-one years, Kelley A. (Velleca) Rivers, two sons, Nathan O. Rivers and John J. Rogers both of Danviile, his mother, Lois Burl of Saranac Lake, NY, a step son, Thomas Phair of Haverhill, four sisters, Sue Rivers of Lawrence, MA, Michelle Polanowicz of Methuen, Sally Jones of Constable, NY, and Dawn Monette of Potsdam, NY, a brother, Stuart Rivers of Lake Placid, NY, five step-sisters, Kim, Sharon, Dawn, Kelly, and Gayle, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, July 24 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. The rendering of Military Honors by the United States Army will follow at 5:15 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, Inc., 371 Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, NY 11787.
